The Velikaya River, also known as Bolshaya and Onemen ((ロシア語:Великая, Большая, Онемен)), is a 556 km long river in Chukotka Autonomous Okrug in Russia. It flows north-eastwards from the Koryak Range through the Anadyrskiy Liman (the Anadyr River estuary) into the Bering Sea at the Gulf of Anadyr. The area of its drainage basin is . Velikaya (Великая) translates to great in the Russian Language. Bolshaya (Большая) translates to big in Russian. The Velikaya River and its tributaries belong to the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. Latitude: 64° N, Longitude: 176° 15' E There is a small populated place in the area close to its estuary also called Velikaya. Beluga whales are common in its estuarian waters.
